A randomized trial of ultrasound-facilitated, catheter-directed, thrombolysis versus anticoagulation for acute intermediate-high risk pulmonary embolism: The higher-risk pulmonary embolism thrombolysis study-HI-PEITHO.

This study will assess two treatment options for pulmonary embolism (a clot in the blood vessels in your lung). One treatment using ultrasound guided thrombolysis and anticoagulation (procedures that break up blood clots), compared with treatment with anticoagulation alone. Mortality (death), cardiorespiratory decompensation (reduced heart function) or collapse within 7 days will be assessed and compared.

Phase III randomized clinical trial for stage III epithelial ovarian cancer randomizing between primary cytoreductive surgery with or without hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy:OVHIPEC-2

This study is a multicentre, open label (participants know their treatment) trial. Patients with FIGO stage III epithelial ovarian cancer, eligible for surgery to reduce the amount of cancer in their body, will be included. They will be randomised to receive surgery with or without hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (where a dose of heated chemotherapy is provided after surgery).

Key Eligibility Criteria: Age Age 18 years. Stage III primary epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or extra-ovarian
cancer, treated with primary complete cytoreduction.

A randomised, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group study, comparing the efficacy and safety of remibrutinib versus teriflunomide in participants with relapsing multiple sclerosis, followed by extended treatment with open-label remibrutinib.

This study will evaluate the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of a drug, remibrutinib, as a treatment for patients with relapsing multiple sclerosis.

SWIFT - A randomised, controlled, parallel group, open-label trial evaluating the impact of treatment with the GLP-1 analogue semaglutide on weight loss in people living with HIV and obesity.

The prevalence of obesity is rising worldwide, both in low- and high-income countries, including in people living with HIV (PLWH). Semaglutide is a drug whose effectiveness in achieving weight loss in PLWH and obesity is still unexplored. The aim of this study is to figure out the effectiveness and safety of semaglutide, in achieving greater weight loss compared to diet and exercise alone, in a group of PLWH and obesity. Exploring the effect of semaglutide on the immune function, markers of immune activation (helps our immune system respond to infections), viral reservoir (a safe hiding spot in the body for viruses to stay inactive or dormant), markers of glucose (blood sugar) and lipid (fatty compound) metabolism and gut microbiome (microorganisms that live in your digestive tract). The treatment stage of the trial will last for 28 weeks, with follow up until 40 weeks.

MPOX-VAX Study

This is a prospective clinical trial (a study where individuals are followed over time) examining the immune response of participants receiving Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA), a vaccine for the prevention of monkeypox (Mpox) infection. Participants may receive MVA 0.1ml intradermally (a shallow injection) or MVA 0.5ml subcutaneously (a deeper injection) on one or two occasions as part of routine clinical care. Participants will attend 5 follow up visits over 48 weeks after their first dose of MVA. The main aim of this trial is to find out the rate of change of (durability), and factors associated with, MVA-specific antibodies (proteins that help remove infection) after 48 weeks post vaccination with MVA.

Key Eligibility Criteria: Age ≥ 18 years old. Eligible for 1 or 2 doses of MVA for Mpox prevention as per NIAC guidelines.

HERMES – A research study to look at how ziltivekimab works compared to placebo in people with heart failure and inflammation.

This study aims to determine if ziltivekimab can be used to treat people living with heart failure and inflammation in reducing the risk of cardiovascular death and heart failure events. Participants will receive either ziltivekimab or placebo (a pill with no active drug ingredient). The study drug will be given through monthly injections, using either a pre-filled syringe or a pen-injector. The trial is expected to last for up to 4 years. Participants will have to use a study app on their phone to record and share information about all their injections of study medicine and to fill in questionnaires.

Cirrhosis-Acute Kidney Injury Cohort Study

The aim of this study is to figure out the ability of novel urinary biomarkers (which tell us information about your health) to predict response/progression of acute kidney injury in patients with liver disease. This Observational Non-Interventional Cohort Study (a study where people are observed over time but not given a study drug/treatment/procedure) will seek to determine if urine biomarkers of kidney injury help to predict the course and outcomes of acute kidney injury with standard medical care.

A Phase 3, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Oral Inhalation of Seralutinib for the treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)

This study will evaluate inhaling seralutinib, a drug to help treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), for up to 48 weeks, in adults who are currently on stable medication for PAH.

A Phase 3 Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Lutikizumab in Adult and Adolescent Subjects with Moderate to Severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa

This is a pivotal global multicenter study to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of lutikizumab, in participants 16 years of age and older, with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), an inflammatory skin condition.

A Phase 2, Multi-Center, Randomized, Double-Blind, Controlled Trial Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of ENV-101 in Patients with Lung Fibrosis (WHISTLE-PF Trial)

This is a 6-month international, dose-ranging trial, of ENV-101, in two groups of patients with lung fibrosis. Group 1 will comprise patients with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and Group 2 will comprise patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF).

The SPYRAL AFFIRM Global Clinical Study of Renal Denervation with the Symplicity Spyral Renal Denervation System in Participants with Uncontrolled Hypertension (SPYRAL AFFIRM)

SPYRAL AFFIRM is a multi-center, interventional, single arm study designed to investigate renal denervation. Renal denervation is a minimally invasive procedure to reduce high blood pressure. The safety, effectiveness, and durability of the procedure will be examined in participants with varying severity of high blood pressure and associated conditions.

To improve identification of cancer in large rectal polyps / tumours before their removal by using digital (artificial intelligence) analysis of blood supply to that area.

Personalized Mechanical Ventilation Guided by UltraSound in Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (PEGASUS)

The PEGASUS study is an investigator-initiated multicentre randomized controlled trial. The objective is to determine if personalized mechanical ventilation, based on lung morphology assessed by Lung Ultrasound, leads to a reduced death rate in patients with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) in the intensive care unit (ICU). This will be compared to conventional mechanical ventilation in patients with ARDS in the ICU.
